The Premier League – Week 4

So far good with The Premier League with 4/5 winning tips.

Week 4 takes us north of the border to Aberdeen the home town of the World Champion Gary Anderson. So naturally he will be getting plenty of support and they like to boo Phil Taylor up there so I wouldn’t be surprised if he has ear plugs in come Thursday night.

Adrian Lewis v James Wade

James Wade came runner up on Friday in the 4th Coral UK Open Qualifier and Adrian Lewis is getting the consistency that was lacking from his game. Both have won 2 matches so far and I expect this to be a close game.

Gary Anderson v Raymond van Barneveld

Gary Anderson won on Friday beating James Wade, but in the 6th Coral UK Open Qualifier on Sunday he lost 6-2 in his first match against John Henderson. So Gary is too inconsistent at the moment and for that reason I will give this match a miss.

Michael van Gerwen v Michael Smith

Michael won 3 of the 6 Coral UK Open Qualifiers and 2 of those were on Saturday and Sunday. Michael Smith has struggled in The Premier League so far with 3 losses and 1 draw so I can see nothing but an MvG win here.

Phil Taylor v Dave Chisnall

Chizzy got the most 180s in last years Premier League and Phil isn’t the most prolific 180 hitter due to the angle his darts land in the board which forces him to switch more often than other players.

Last week Chizzy got 5 180s compared to Phil’s 4.

Peter Wright v Robert Thornton

Peter has won all 3 of matches and Robert has lost both his matches including a whitewash. Peter Wright should win this easily enough and has the easiest match of the night.

  • MvG win
  • Wright win

2 points/NAP
