Horse Racing – Fri 1st April

7.30 Dundalk (Listed) 7f

There is 1 horse that jumps out of the page at me and that’s Adien O’ Brien’s Washington DC. He has never been out of the first 2 and he won the Windsor Castle Stakes (listed) at Royal Ascot last year and then last time out he came 2nd in a group 1 to stable mate Air Force Blue by 2 lengths.

Day & McIlroy Leave The Path Clear For Spieth

6 profitable weeks in a row for my golf tips.

The first major of the year is just around the corner and you can see my Masters tips here which I tipped on 18th March.

Jordan Spieth

Ok he didn’t make the final of the Dell Match Play last week as he got knocked out by the runner-up Oosty, but he played well overall. Last year Spieth was in a play off here, eventually losing to J.B. Holmes.

The odds seem wrong here as Jordan is more or less the same price to win this tournament as he is for the Masters and in this event there is no Day or McIlroy! He is 7/1 with the bookies and 17/2 with Betfair so I will be having some that.

BACK Spieth (2 points)  at 9.60 (17/2) Betfair Exchange

LAY Spieth (2 points) at 6.60 (11/2) Betfair Exchange

LAY Spieth (1 point) at 2.00 (Evens) Betfair Exchange

Dustin Johnson

This is a standard bet for all tournaments and that is laying Dustin in running at 4.00 or 3/1 as he is a good player who usually shoots great first 2 rounds but is nowhere to be seen at the business end of a tournament. He wins an average of 1 tournament a year so over the course of a season you should be ahead laying him. So far I have laid him twice in running and made money both times.

LAY Johnson in running at 4.00 (3/1) Betfair Exchange

NB – You can only trade, back to lay or lay on a betting exchange such as Betfair. I make approx 30% of my profits by either trading or laying on Betfair.

The Premier League – Week 9

2/2 winning tips for last weeks premier league and a small profit on the German Darts Master (ET2) at the weekend, so I am feeling confident going into week 9 in Cardiff.

Thursday is “Judgement Night” where we see the bottom 2 eliminated which is looking like Chizzy, who was a revelation last year and the new kid on the premier league block Michael Smith.

It’s very rare that I have a bet on every match as there is always a tricky match that is too tough to call, but I am getting stuck into in all 5 matches!

There has been a serious lack of draws this year in the premier league and I think it’s only 5 so far and 2 of those were last week, so perhaps there may be 1 or 2 on Thursday.

Is This The End Of The Road For Chizzy & Smith?

James Wade v Gary Anderson 7.15pm

Gary is one of the favourites on Thursday that I think will not win. On Monday in the German Darts Masters (ET2) he lost 6-0 with 79.17 average so I will be taking him on tonight.

Michael Smith v Phil Taylor 8pm

I really like Michael Smith and it is such a shame that he hasn’t performed as well as he can. Phil will probably put the final nail in his premier league coffin with an easy win as he has been playing well this year.

Dave Chisnal v Peter Wright 8.45pm

Chizzy was on fire on his premier league debut last year but this year he has been well below par. Peter played well in the German Darts Masters at the weekend finishing runner-up to MvG, 6-4. Peter has played well for the last 4 weeks or so but hasn’t necessarily been rewarded by wins in the premier league.

Robert Thornton v Adrian Lewis 9.30pm

Robert Thornton got out of relegation jail last week after drawing 6-6 with MvG and beating Michael Smith. He is looking like he is back after a bad start in the premier league, hopefully it’s not too late for him. Adrian’s last match was in the German Darts Masters and he was shocking on his doubles getting only 3 out 21 attempts so I will be taking him on come Thursday night!

Raymond van Barneveld v Michael van Gerwen 10.15pm

Barney has been pretty poor over the last 4 or 5 weeks and I expect nothing but a routine MvG win here.

Horse Racing – Tue 29th March

Today is the last day of the 3 day Easter meeting at Fairyhouse.

3.55 Fairyhouse (Grade 2) 2m1F

Top gamble has won 7 races including 2 at this level, 2 grade 2s. Last time out he won a grade 2 beating Dodging Bullets who has won 2 grade 1s.

He has won over this trip before, will go on the ground and has top jockey booking of Richard Johnson.

Twinlight won this race last year but hasn’t done much since in 5 attempts.

German Darts Masters (ET2) SF

This is my last bet of the night and I would love to see Peter Wright win this but I think that if he makes the final Michael will just have too much for fire power for him.

I can’t believe Gary Anderson’s performance in his last match as he  let my treble down. He lost 6-0 , only had 3 shots at a double and a 79.17  average….absolutely mind boggling!?!?!?

Wright v Smith

Peter Wright is into yet another semi-final, it’s getting nearly as common as MvG winning. I really must start trading Peter and cashing out in the semis as he really is Mr Consistent.

I don’t know how Michael Smith won his match against Ian White as he was 3-0 down and finished with a 91.25 average, Peter got 101.78 in his last match which should be more than enough for a place in the final.

German Darts Masters (ET2) QF

Seems to be a bit of a thing here where my accumluator loses in each round, but my double wins to save the day so I am breaking even in each round. Maybe a treble here will buck that trend!

I am not sure of the times or the order of these matches, but these tips are up with plenty of time in hand.

Wright v Richardson

Richardson had the 2nd lowest 3 darts average of 93.22 in all of the last 16 matches and he beat Adrian Lewis only because Lewis only managed 3 doubles in 21 attempts. Which is worth bearing in mind for the Premier League on Thursday night.

Wright normally knocks in 100-105 averages and his doubles have averaged 61% in his last 2 matches so I have to side with Peter here.

White v Smith

White played well to beat Jelle Klaasen in the last round but Smith was superb on the doubles with 85.71% and got an average of 104.56 in the last round. Smith is a confidence player and he must oozing confidence right now!

Anderson v Cullen

Cullen had a 92.34 average which just isn’t enough to trouble heavy scoring  Gary Anderson who got 101.66 in his last match.

No handicap markets available at the moment for these matches as I want to to back Gary here -1.5 legs, so It’s just 3 straight wins here.

MvG v Dobey

I have never heard of Dobey before to be honest, but he was pretty good pushing Chizzy to one side with a 102.25 average, 42.86% on his doubles and the most 180s in the round of 7! That’s enough to beat most top players but will it be enough to beat MvG?

I am sure that MvG will win here but the odds on offer for an MvG win after Dobey’s performance are way too low so I will sit this one out.

Horse Racing – Mon 28th March

There are 5 class 1 races in Ireland today and I am getting stuck into 2 of them which are both at Fairyhouse.

4.20 Fairyhouse (Grade 2) 2m4f

This is a competitive grade 2 with the first 4 in the betting being between 7/2 – 4/1. At a first glance I though I would put a line through this race as it look very open but after digging a bit deeper I spotted Gwencily Berbas. He has won 2/4 races since coming to Ireland in 2015 including a grade 2 & 3. But what I really like is that she beat a grade 1 winner in Naas in November.

He is 4/1 to win but I am going for a win at a lesser price of 5/2 but I get my money back if he finishes 2nd or 3rd AKA cover bet 3 places or insure bet 3 places. 4 bookies do this bet Bet365, Sky Bet, Powers & Hills. No BOG unfortunately.

BACK Gwencily Berbas To Win at 5/2 Cover Bet 3 Places With Hills

5.35 Fairyhouse (Grade 3) 2m4f

One horse stands out here and that’s Emily Gray who won a listed race last time out in February so should make light work of this grade 3. The horse that finished 2nd is also a listed winner too!

Emily Gray was 10/11 last night and is slightly less at the moment so I will back her now at just over evens with Betfair Exchange and hope it gets matched in running. In hinds
