We are off to Sheffield on Thursday night for the next instalment of the Premier League.
Now we are down to 8 players and I can’t work out why James Wade and Phil Taylor are playing twice, surely it should be 4 matches for the next few weeks or so?!?! No doubt Mardle and Co will explain why on Thursday night.
I seem to have gone off the beaten track with my Premier League darts tips by leaving myself over exposed if matches end in draws. So I am back on track now with 3 tips for Thursday that will payout regardless if they end a draw or not!
Gary Anderson v Phil Taylor (7.45pm)
Gary is a slow starter, which is something that the pundits on Sky haven’t picked up on. He came from behind to draw with James Wade last week and in his match before in the German Darts Masters he only got a 79 average and lost 6-0. Phil is a notorious dominant front runner and very rarely loses if he hits the front early on, so if Gary gets out of the traps late again it’s game over as far as I am concerned.
LAY Anderson at 2.75 (7/4)
Robert Thornton v Michael van Gerwen (8.30pm)
MvG has amazingly drawn his last 3 premier league matches so he is infallible. Thornton is over his bad patch and he beat MvG in the final of the World Grand Prix in Dublin back in October and drew 6-6 with him 2 weeks ago. it’s hard to back against Michael at the moment but I think Robert is more than capable of winning 4 legs off of him.
BACK Thornton +3.5 Legs – 13/10 Betfair Sportsbook (2.30)
Lewis v Wright (9.15pm)
Wright has been in great form recently after finishing runner-up to MvG 6-4 in the final of the German Darts Masters and winning against Chizzy last week. I think Peter is much more consistent that Adrian so I have to side with Wright here.
Lay Lewis at 2.40
NB – Lay means not to win so it’s ideal for the premier league and football as you win if it’s a draw too. You can only lay on a betting exchange such as Betfair.
