World Championship – R1

The qualifiers have won 3 matches this week to earn their place here against the top 16 so they are match fit! There will be plenty of shock results in round 1, that I can promise you!

So rather than grouping a some favourites to win in multiples I am going for 4 outsiders instead plus a centuries bet.

Bingham v Carter

Stuart Bingham has finally come good after a poor start to the season finishing runner-up by 1 frame to Shaun Murphy and has had the highest breaks in 2 tournaments. But I am siding with Ali Carter who was a finalist twice here as he was excellent in the qualifiers and knocked in 5 centuries and a 98 break.

Carter To Win – 13/8 (2.62)

Over 1.5 Match Centuries – 11/10 (2.10)

Maguire v McManus

Alan McManus is a tactical player who will know how to wind up the self imploding Stephen Maguire. Alan has won 3 out of their last 4 encounters and played well this week in the qualifiers  winning 10-2, 10-5 & 10-6.

Stephen has had 4 first round exits in 2016 and got whitewashed in his last 2 tournaments 6-0 by Trump and 4-0 by Higgins.

McManus To Win – 9/4 (3.25)

Williams v Dott

Both of these are former world champions but Mark has lost his last 2 tournaments in the first round and Graeme Dott is match fit. So I have to go with the form player here.

Dott To Win – 11/8 (2.36)

Perry v Wilson

Joe Perry got whitewashed by Alfie Burden last time out in the China Open, so like the above match I am siding with the form player once again.

Wilson To Win – 11/10 (2.10)
