For the last 2 weeks there has been a shock result in round one, last week it was James Wade and it was Phil Taylor’s turn yesterday. Phil got 40% on his doubles and a 112 three dart average and got beat 6-2 by the up and coming Corey Cadby, who Phil beat 6-3 the previous week!
Well that’s one of my outright win selections dead and buried, so I need Gary Anderson to reach the final to save the day.
We have the quarter finals today which are the first to 10 legs and the times below are GMT times. There is no live coverage in the UK & Ireland but you can watch recorded coverage on ITV4. It was 8pm last night so should be the same time tonight, but do double check.
Gary Anderson v Dave Chisnall (12pm)
I am on the 180s here as Dave got four in his last match and Gary got none.
Corey Cadby v Peter Wright (12.45pm)
It’s Corey for me in this match not because he beat Phil but because his four main stats were better than Peter’s.
Corey – 103 three dart average, four 180s, 122 highest checkout & 55% on his doubles.
Peter – 91 three dart average, two 180s, 62 highest checkout & only 26% on his doubles.
Corey is 11/2 to win but I will include a little bit of safety by going for the handicap market instead.
Michael van Gerwen v James Wade (1.30pm)
On paper Michael should win this but James has an impressive record over MvG this year as off of the top of my head I think James has beaten Michael two or three times this year!
I want Michael beat here as it would increase my chances of Gary winning outright but it’s hard to back against MvG so I will sit this one out.
Adrian Lewis v Raymond van Barneveld (2.15pm)
I tend to avoid matches that Barney is playing in as his darts are too erratic for me.
Chizzy most 180s
Cadby +4.5 legs
