Well round one saw the early departure of Neil Robertson who got beaten by the amateur Peter lines 6:3 and the likes of “The Ronald,” Stuart Bingham and a few lesser lights won 6:0.
So with Robbo gone from the top half of the draw it will make “The Ronald’s” route to the final that little bit easier, so my initial thoughts of laying him after a couple of rounds will be put on hold for the time being.
From today onwards there will be no more slumming it on streamed coverage on Betfair as coverage from both the BBC and Euro Sports starts and should give the UK Championship the feel of a proper tournament rather than that of a Saturday tournament in your local snooker club.
Round two has the same format as round one, the best of thirteen frames but all the matches will be played in the Barbican with today’s televised matches comprising of:
Daniel Wells v Mark Selby (1pm)
Stuart Bingham v Yu Delu (7pm)
I have 3 tips for today with one of them being a high break scorer double that covers both Saturday & Sunday. There will be further tips in a separate post for Sunday.
High Break Scorer Treble
I have a handful of players who have been banging in the centuries in their first matches with the amount of centuries in brackets.
