The shock results just keep coming, first we had Peter Lines knocking out the defending champion Neil Robertson in round one and then his son Oliver beat Judd Trump in round two. They always say things happen in threes and Stuart Bingham is the third big named casualty making an early exit.
Round three started today and Unfortunately something came up this morning so I didn’t have a chance to study the afternoon matches. But I do have a treble for tonight (7pm) and two of those matches are televised.
John Higgins v Ben Woollaston – Televised
Higgins fine run continues as he managed century breaks in both his matches so far of 132 & 126. Ben’s highest breaks in his two matches were 101 & 87.
Mei Xiwen v Marco Fu -Televised
Fu also got a century in both of his matches too, 125 & 116 compared to Xiwen’s highest contributions in his opening matches of 93 & 76.
Yu Delu v Luca Brecel
Luca has also been in fine fettle recently after knocking out Shaun Murphy in round one of the Northern Ireland Open. His two highest breaks in the UK Championship have been 102 twice compared Delu’s highest two breaks of 70 twice.
