Michael van Gerwen (Quarter 1)
With 25 tournaments under his belt for 2016 he really is the main man this year and although he is odds on I have to back him, but I have cover bets by trading Peter wright and Gary Anderson just in case Michael doesn’t win.
Gary Anderson (Quarter 3)
Gary has won this tournament for the last two years and really seems to come into form at this time of year. He has glasses now which can only be a plus and he seems to have got used to his new darts.
As I fancy two players from the bottom half to make the final I will trade them ideally laying them back if they meet each other in the semi-finals for “free bets” on them.
Off the top of my head I think I won 14 points trading Gary Anderson in this tournament last year, but it’s all detailed in my results spreadsheet.
Peter Wright (Quarter 4)
If Gary doesn’t make the final from the bottom half of the draw, Peter will make an able deputy. He only won once in 2016 but reached several semi-finals.
My ideal bet would be for Peter to win his quarter but at odds of only 5/4 I will give that a miss as it’s way too short considering he is 14/1 to win! A MvG and Wright final is only 9/2 so I will trade Peter instead on Betfair and lay him back if he meets Gary in the semi-finals or if he meets MvG in the final.

15/2 Befair Exchange (8.40)
Back To Lay
14/1 Betfair Exchange (15.00)
NB – Trading or back to lay can only be done on a betting exchange such as Betfair. It’s not that complicated e.g. I back Peter Wright at 14/1 and then lay him back at 6/1 in running for a “free” 8/1 bet on him.
