This is a post for the afternoon session only and there is another post with a double for the evening session. Click HERE to see my 7pm session tip.
I have two tips covering three matches and two of those are televised.
Dominic Dale v Shaun Murphy – Televised
Shaun hasn’t been playing well this season, if you include qualifiers and first rounds combined he has lost those matches seven times this season!
Dominic has been playing some steady stuff this year having made the semi-finals of the Paul Hunter Classic and round 4 in the Northern Ireland Open last week.
Shaun should win this but it won’t be a one sided match as Dominic will give put up a decent fight.
Mark Williams v Ricky Walden – Televised
Mark has been the only person to beat John Higgins in the previous three tournaments, which is pretty good as John has won two of those tournaments and knocked in a 147 break!
The last three times that these two have played each other in best of sevens or more, they have all gone to deciding frames. The bookies can’t split them and neither can I, but I am confident that it will be another close game.
Matthew Stevens v Joe Perry
Matthew seems to have lost his way over the last few seasons and Joe has beaten Matthew in five out of their last six matches. The match that Matthew won was in the 6Reds which doesn’t really count.
