China Open Qualifiers – Fri 27th Jan (Afternoon Session)

Today I am splitting my tips over two posts, the morning session (10am) and the afternoon session (2.30pm). Click here to see my 13/8 tip for the morning session.

Judd Trump and Mark Selby are playing at 2.30pm today and should win, but I am going to give them a miss as I find that both of them can make hard work of easy matches which rules out backing them in the handicap market. So it’s just two singles for me for this session.

The two matches that are streamed for free (no bet required, you just need money to have money in your account) for the afternoon session on Betfair are:-

Dave Gilbert v Kurt Dunham

Stephen Maguire v Boonyarit Kaettikun

Alfie Burden v Akani Songsermsawad (2.30pm)

Alfie’s results for the past three months aren’t a true reflection of how he is playing as he has some tough opponents such as Mark Selby and Stuart Bingham to contend with. But he did get his first 147 in the English Open back in October.

Akani is playing some good snooker this season as he qualified for the German Masters after beating Jack Lisowski and Greame Dott. However four of his last ten matches went to deciding frames.

So I see this as a close match with Akani winning.

Although this matched isn’t streamed, you can always have a look at the live scoreboards here.
