World Grand Prix Snooker Betting Tips – Tue 7th Feb (Round 1)

Round one continues today with a total of eight matches split over two sessions at 1pm and 7pm with coverage starting on ITV4 at 12.45pm and 6.45pm.

It’s a little bit confusing to find out which matches are televised as there are different matches listed on different websites. But rest assured I will have the correct televised matches throughout this tournament  up on here. Today’s televised matches are:-

Ryan Day v Stuart Bingham (1pm)

Michael Holt v Shaun Murphy (3pm)

Yan Bintao v Ronnie O’ Sullivan (7pm)

Marco Fu v Jamie Jones (9pm)

I am getting stuck into two matches today which are both in the afternoon session and fortunately one of them is televised.

Ryan Day v Stuart Bingham (1pm)

Although Stuart Bingham made it to the semi-finals of the German Masters last week, I really though his results were flattering as he looked like he was struggling to me!

Ryan on the other hand beat Mark Allen 5:1, then got two centuries (132 & 104) against Robin Hull before getting knocked out by Martin Gould.

No doubt the pundits and commentators will roll out the predictable “Ryan Day is the best player not win a ranking tournament,” again. But I for one think he will be the best player in this match and will secure his birth in round two.

Mark King v Stephen Maguire (7pm)

Mark King is having a great season after winning his first tournament, The Northern Ireland Open in November and then last week he knocked out his old adversary The Ronald 5:4 in the German Masters after being 4:1 down!

It’s been a while now since Stephen was in the headlines lifting some silverware and he comes in to this tournament after a 5:1 first round defeat in the German Masters.

My thinking in this match is that Mark is playing well, has confidence and momentum on his side coming into this match which should be enough to get him over the line.
